The IRCC has just tweeted an update about those who are applying for Canadian citizenship. They comment on days spent outside of Canada as a result of travel restrictions due to COVID-19 pandemic. The days spent abroad will NOT count as days in Canada. The applicant must still be able to meet the physical presence requirement. The position of IRCC is duly noted however, it is impossible for the government to paint one brush and cover every single circumstance that an individual or family are and have been facing.
